Ever wonder what 2-week-post-op makeup correction looks like, for a facelift?
Facelift recovery can be long and daunting. A few months ago I had a client come to me who was 2 weeks post op from having a face lift. She expressed it was safe to start using cosmetics again, had a meeting and needed to look ‘normal’. When she removed her large hat and glasses, she looked very bruised and the stitches around her eyes were still prevalent. As such, she wanted to meet me at Ulta and buy whatever I used. And clearly I pounced at the opportunity, for I get off on this type of color correction!
The Before and After
Her permission’s been granted, so I’m posting the before and after photos I took. These are straight out of my iPhone with NO filters or editing.
BEFORE:
STEP 1: APPLY APPROPRIATE SKINCARE AND WITH MAKEUP, EVEN THE SKIN TONE.
STEP 2: APPLICATION OF COLOR COSMETICS.
Final Thoughts
The look on her face when she saw her new face for the first time was priceless. It’s one of the many reasons I love doing what I do. Makeup is art and can be used for so many reasons beyond vanity. It really is magic at our fingertips. While everyone is perfect as they are, I also believe that if something is going to make you feel better about yourself, do it. You don’t need an excuse and you don’t owe anyone an explanation to do you.

With regards to what I used, two of my favorite brands and products used for this type of work are Dermablend’s Full Coverage Foundation and the many products by It Cosmetics.
As always, comments rock!
Till next time..
