Out in Cali on business and it’s simultaneously my 15 year sober anniversary!

It’s surreal driving down the streets I used to drive down early on.

My perspectives have and continue to change as I heal and evolve, breaking through and out of old ways of being.. never staying the same for very long.

I’m COMMITTED AF… to the messy and the beautiful in this process.

And in turn, I’m blessed with multiple soul tribes and an evolving relationship with a HP that is bigger than ANY FN PROBLEM OR OBSTACLE in my life.

People pleasing is a fear-based trauma response that’s layered and apart of the Shadow Work journey.

It’s a cocktail of fear, victim-hood, martyrdom, lack of faith, programming, punishment and selfishness - just to name a few.

Nevertheless, I’ve found it to be an invitation into a deeper dance with self and owning my personal power, and trusting my process and my connection to Source.

But get those expectations in check because to the utter dissatisfaction of my ego’s need for instant results: it’s been a process, not a light switch.

Remembering it’s always progress not perfection, be gentle and LOVE YOSELF - as you are, where you are, gorgeous.

Use the tools you’ve cultivated to grow rather than resist whatever challenge is being presented in front of you.

Everything is exactly as it should be.

Walking a path of open vulnerability will attract many types.

Some will be ready to meet you where you are, build and grow with you, and become a part of your life-long tribe.

Some will come for healing and want to learn from you, and be another flavor that deepens the magic in your life..

And some will take your openness as weakness and attempt to use it to manipulate you to get what they want.

All three scenarios have a place and are an opportunity to step deeper into the relationship you hold with YOUR OWN standards and requirements, which is NOT the same thing as expectations.

May you enter into 2023 with clear boundaries on what you deserve, the courage to say no to everything and everyone who can’t meet you there and the trust to know that you are entering into the season of your wildest fucking dreams.

Feelings are only scary until I CHOOSE to take my power back and start chipping away at the onion layers to explore the resistance and discover the gifts that lay on the other side.

The first step is admitting there’s a block. The next step is intending/praying for a healing solution. The final step is trusting solutions will appear.

For me this started with EMDR therapy in 2017, suggested to me by a friend.
