Comfortable Laurels; Blogging for a Living

Will Write for Makeup

It’s 8:30 in the morning in central Florida. I’ve been to my daughter’s bus stop, seen her off to school and am on my laptop contemplating life, as usual.

As per The Artist’s Way,  the three pages of ‘morning pages’ I typically write each morning always bring up truths that lead to some form of expression.  If you haven’t read the book or tried the exercises, I HIGHLY recommend investigating!

“As an artist I have to keep going. To remain stale in a medium I’ve outgrown because it’s comfortable to myself and others is a silent death.” -Kris

Where am I?

I’ve been home for a year and a half from NYC.  And in my quest for my purpose, I’ve explored quite a few projects. I opened my own makeup services company, KDLR Beauty Labs (of which I created the website, produce youtube videos and love my clients!). I created an online fashion store called Petite Treason, which taught me Shopify, e-commerce and how much I loathe the upkeep of products. And have been approached by a lawyer and plastic surgeon to consult on social media initiatives.

The universe has a funny way of pointing me in directions. For they say what you do most and when you’re not being paid is your thing.

Writing History

These hands have spent the last 23 years of my life writing daily, the last 10 inconsistently blogging, the last 5 in morning pages, and the last 2 months acting on the realization that it’s my calling and passion.  And that it, combined with my digital marketing arsenal and savvy, makes it an avenue of service to the world I’m excited to pursue more deeply.

Anyone that knows me personally, knows I’m a ‘knob to 11’ type-of-chick, with the things I’m passionate about.  So excuse my mess while I update and upgrade my world to encompass my new truth, which is allowing me to offer my writing, digital marketing, and creative consulting services to beauty, fashion and lifestyle niches, and publications.
